Glasthule Project

- Extension to a Period house in Glasthule

- Existing ad hoc extensions which encroached into the gardel leaving a poor residual space with the boundary were demolished and replaced with a single structure with a curved roof. The form of the roof arose out of a wish to keep the height of the extension low at the boundary with the neighbouring property.

- A courtyard was retained between the extension and the existing house to preserve light and ventilation to the existing reception room.

- Despite the northerly orientation, sunlight is brought into the heart of the kitchen via a quirky circular roof window.

- Interior: kitchen and other bespoke joinery, including a panelled wall concealing a pantry and utility room were designed and fabricated to suit the client’s needs.
